Biographical note:

Studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Augsburg.
Worked between 1997 and 2000 for the priority research program DANSE of the German Research Foundation. Research on nonlinear control theory and in 2000 doctoral-thesis on "Lyapunov Spectrum and Control sets" supervised by Fritz Colonius.
Worked for debis (now T-Systems) in various fields of systems management.
Joined in 2001 the Laboratory for Mixed Realities at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne as research scientist and project manager for the project "Interactive Simulation of Virtual Characters". Worked for the project mqube - A Mobile Multi-User Mixed Reality Environment, funded by the bmbf.
In 2003 co-foundation of the NOMADS Lab.
In 2004 guest professor at the Multimedia Systems and Man Machine Interface (MIHM) group of the CEDRIC at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers in Paris.
